Glow-in-the-dark Paint for Interior and Exterior Applications – Green

Also called Luminescent, Photoluminescent, Phosphorescent and Strontium Aluminate paint.

Charges in light and then glows in the dark for 12 hours.

Highly durable:  Life Expectancy exceeds 12 years in exterior environments and 20 years in interior applications. There is no limit to the number of charge cycles that the paint can undergo. As long as the durable paint is in good condition it will continue to charge and glow as it did when new.

GID Green is the brightest glowing Glow-in-the-dark Paint and is used for safety and decorative applications. GID Green is often the color of choice due it having a significantly brighter glow than GID Aqua-blue.

In normal light both GID Green and GID Aqua-blue are an off-white pale green colour. These paints are not transparent so they impart an off-white pale green colour to the surface they are applied to.

Always paint Glow-in-the-dark Paint onto white colored surfaces to get a good glow so if necessary paint the surface white with a good quality acrylic/PVA  paint first.

In areas that are dark at night or when the lights go out, these paints are awesome. Paint something in a bedroom and you will see it glow all night. They are also great for emergency demarcation when the lights go out.

These paints glow-in-the-dark so work best in areas that are dark at night.

Bear in mind that many outdoor environments are not dark at night due to street lights, exterior house lights and even moon light (when full moon). If the area is not dark then the glow result may not meet your expectations. If you have seen pictures of “glow paint” on plant pots or pathways and the glow looks as bright as a light then the pictures are not of glow-in-the-dark paint. If you see pictures of bright glowing objects painted in bright colours these are also not glow-in-the-dark paints, regardless of what somebody writes next to the pictures. They are either edited pictures, are items with battery operated LED lights under the surface or are UV Paints with an Ultraviolet light shining onto them. If our paints could do this then they would have replaced electrical lights in many applications.

Pictures that frequently do the rounds on social media, that are claimed to be glow-in-the-dark paint, include a bright shining plant pot with LED lights below the surface and brightly coloured glowing garden rocks which are actually neon uv paints under uv lighting. We can say for certain that these effects are not glow-in-the-dark paints.
